General Manager

COPE-Nano is an ambitious project that will leverage on the internationally acknowledged track record and innovation activities of the Nanotechnology Lab LTFN/AUTh to establish a new, autonomous, and self-sustained Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Organic, Printed Electronics & Nanotechnologies (COPE-Nano).

The ideal candidate will have experience leading a team and managing the daily operation of the COPE-Nano.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing business operations and business strategies for the day-by-day running of all the activities for the establishment and operation of the CoE
  • Plans, develops, organizes, and executes business strategies in order to attain the goals of the CoE
  • Delegate responsibilities and supervise the work of executives providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance
  • Ensure CoE policies and legal guidelines are communicated all the way from the top down and that they are followed at all times
  • Ensuring the company’s financial performance and overall success
  • Monitoring the annual budget
  • Represents COPE-Nano at various meetings as required

Qualifications

  • Higher Education Degree in Economics or Business Administration or Engineering
  • Master’s degree Business Administration
  • PhD Preferable but necessary
  • Proven experience as General Director at least 5 years and/or other senior management positions
  • Demonstrable experience in developing strategic, operations and business plan in European and National Research Projects
  • Proven analytical, project management
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and measures of performance
  • Familiarity with corporate law and management best practices
  • Excellent knowledge in English

 


 

Chief Operating Officer

COPE-Nano is an ambitious project that will leverage on the internationally acknowledged track record and innovation activities of the Nanotechnology Lab LTFN/AUTh to establish a new, autonomous, and self-sustained Centre of Excellence for Organic, Printed Electronics & Nanotechnologies (COPE-Nano).

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence across the COPE-Nano. Your primary goal will be to increase our organization's productivity, efficiency, and profitability. You will advise the CEO on key operational insights as well as provide coaching to employees.

Responsibilities

  • Leader of a) procurement and tenders bureau, b) HR management bureau, c) budget control, accounting, cashflow planning bureau, d) legal support and management of patents and IP, in collaboration with external expert legal advisors, e) administration of funding, f) publicity, marketing and PR activities, and g) secretariat and IT support
  • Develop, Plan and Implement the frame for Financial procedures of COPE-Nano
  • Organize the COPE-Nano Administrative & Accounting Unit (AAU) 
  • Communicate with EC Financial Services
  • Communicate with Greek Financial Services
  • Harmonization with EC and Greek Financial Regulations
  • Overview of Financial Monitoring of COPE-Nano
  • Direct communication with tax office
  • Support General Director concerning decision-making on investments

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a relevant field
  • Master’s degree in economics and/or Business Administration
  • Proven experience as Chief Operating Officer at least 5 years in Large Companies or Organizations
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and measures of performance
  • Familiarity with corporate law and management est practices
  • Excellent knowledge in English
